My name is Jamie McAllister. I write cozy mysteries filled with small-town settings, characters you want to visit again and again, and lots of secrets. If you enjoy your cozy puzzles wrapped in warm comfort and welcoming characters, you’re in the right place.

I LOVE reading mysteries, especially cozies. My love affair with mysteries started as a child when I read Nancy Drew books. I grew up in the 1980s and 1990s, so in addition to the original classic Nancy Drew stories, I also got to enjoy The Nancy Drew Files and the super mysteries, where Nancy teamed up with Joe and Frank Hardy to solve crimes. And when I wasn’t reading mysteries, I was tuning in to an episode of Scooby Doo. (True confession: I still indulge in Nancy Drew books and episodes of Scooby Doo.)

As I got older, I gravitated to cozy mysteries. The colorful, inviting covers and punny titles had me hooked from the very beginning. I fell in love with the sleuths I met in those books. It was so much fun to travel with them as they discovered bodies, talked with suspects, and then finally confronted the killer and unraveled the mystery.

For many years I wanted to write my own cozy mystery novels. I studied all the how-to books, attended classes, and wrote bits and pieces. Then, finally, something in my brain clicked and I cracked the code to writing cozy mysteries. Now that I know, I can’t get enough! 

In this blog I will share my writer journey—what inspires my stories, the joys (and chaos!) of writing cozy mysteries, behind-the-scenes peeks at my work, and maybe even a recipe or two inspired by the books in my cozy mystery series.
