What If I Were a Guest at the Yesteryear B&B?

The Tech-Free B&B is located in Hillsville, Michigan, a rural town with lots of farms and natural beauty. Guests come from all over to enjoy Rachel Kent’s delicious meals and to disconnect from their cell phones.

When I write, I feel like I am transported to Hillsville. I love driving the winding country roads along with my sleuth, Rachel, and hanging out with all of the quirky characters she encounters, from locals to guests.

But what if I really did get the chance to stay at the Yesteryear B&B? Read on to find out how I would spend my vacation at the Tech-Free B&B.

Which room would I want to stay in at the Yesteryear B&B?

There are four rooms at the B&B: The Sweet Cherry Room, the Green Apple Room, the Strawberries and Cream Room, and the Blueberry Room. I would pick the Green Apple Room, because the walls are painted bright green and I think that sounds cheery.

What would I do at the B&B? I know exactly what I would do: I would spend as much time as possible petting the barn cats! I love animals, and the barn cats are one of my favorite parts of the series. I would love to spend an afternoon surrounded by a bunch of friendly kitty cats.

Could I handle going without my cell phone for an entire week? I think I would do okay with giving up my cell phone, but I know I would struggle if I had to go without internet access or a computer. I spend a lot of time online and/or writing, so that would be a struggle for me.

However, I would like the chance to meet new people and spend time with them without the distraction of cell phones. I like to play card games and board games, so hopefully the other guests would be willing to join me. I would also spend a lot of time outdoors, walking in the woods that stretches for acres behind the farm.

Which character would I like to be friends with? This is a tough question. I love all of my characters! I would have to say that I would want to be friends with my sleuth, Rachel Kent. She is a caring, hardworking person who values her family and friends. Plus, she gets to solve mysteries, and I want to solve them right along with her!

Which character(s) would I like to meet in real life? I want to meet Al Kent, Rachel’s dad, just to see if he is as funny in real life as he is in the books. I also want to meet Rachel’s baby half-brother, Herbie, so I can hear his laugh. It’s somewhere between a giggle and a hiccup, and I would love to hear that in person.

Join Rachel Kent and all of her friends and family at the Yesteryear B&B! Pick up the first two books in this delightful cozy mystery series - Rhubarb & Revenge and Beets & Betrayal.
